New supervisory board appointed at Q Hospitality Group

Further professionalisation and support for growth ambitions

Arnhem, 5 March 2026 – The shareholders of Q Hospitality Group have appointed three members to its Supervisory Board. With the appointment of Jan ten Kate (Chairman), Marcel Hielkema and Jojanneke Goedings, Q Hospitality Group takes a further step in structurally embedding governance and strategic oversight, in line with the overall development of the group and the growth phase the company is currently experiencing.

Q Hospitality Group has the clear ambition to be a distinctive hotel group and to further expand across the Benelux in the coming years. The focus is twofold: on the one hand, high-quality urban hotels (4-star plus) in the largest cities, and on the other hand, distinctive hotels in unique locations, such as historic buildings in cities, rural areas, forests or by the sea. These so-called ‘heritage hotels’ are characterised by their unique identity, high quality standards and strong gastronomic signature. As such, they align seamlessly with the portfolio of the group’s soft franchise activities operating under the name Quality Lodgings.

With the growth of the portfolio, the recent entry of new shareholders, and the increasing organisational, financial and commercial scale of the company, the decision was made to establish an experienced and complementary Supervisory Board. The Supervisory Board oversees the long-term strategy, value creation and continuity of the company, while acting as a critical sounding board and strategic sparring partner for the management team. Particular attention is given to financial discipline and risk management through clear frameworks and a culture of open and transparent communication.

Experienced chairman and strong expertise

The Supervisory Board is chaired by Jan ten Kate. He brings broad experience as a former chartered accountant, CFO, investor and entrepreneur, and has previously been involved as an external auditor and supervisory board member in the growth and professionalisation of several hotel companies.

Marcel Hielkema has an international background in the hospitality sector. He has held commercial, operational and executive roles at, among others, Bilderberg, and is currently active as an entrepreneur and director/partner at KplusV.

Jojanneke Goedings has built a broad career in senior management roles at organisations including ING, Nationale-Nederlanden and within the healthcare sector. She currently serves as Chief People & Sustainability Officer at VGZ and brings expertise in organisational development, governance and sustainability.

Next phase of development

Jan ten Kate, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, commented:
“Q Hospitality Group is in a phase where guest experience, scale, professionalisation and focus come together. The role of the Supervisory Board is to help provide direction, bring sharpness to strategic decisions and support the management team in achieving sustainable value creation. I look forward to contributing to this together with my fellow Supervisory Board members.”

Bas Tolmeijer, Co-founder & CEO of Q Hospitality Group, added:
“The establishment of a Supervisory Board reflects the next stage of development for Q Hospitality Group. With the recent addition of new shareholders and our growth ambitions, it is important to further strengthen our governance and strategic oversight. The experience and complementary expertise within the Supervisory Board provide us with confidence and support as we continue to expand the organisation and pursue our growth strategy.”
